January 14th Starfinder
« on: December 18, 2018, 02:24:40 pm »
Play Starfinder Society every other Monday at Java Game Haus. If you've never visited Java before or if it's been a while, be sure to look at the "About the Store" section of this post and read about the store's rules and policies.

January 14th Announcements:
And thus starts the beginning of the week shift. Since December had five Mondays, our bi-weekly games went from the first and third Mondays to the second and fourth. It will right itself around April, which is the next five-week month. Until then, just remember that our regular game nights are every other week and our special game nights are on the last available Monday of the month. When in doubt, check the forums for dates.

Want to discuss Starfinder, local events, and chat with other local SFS players? PM "Snowcat"/Anna for an invite to our local Starfinder Society Discord group. We use it as a quick way to communicate and plan with each other, and it's an invite-only server. Locals and friends of locals only. We also play mid-tier and high-tier games online via Discord and Roll20-- some of which can't be played at the store events. All you need is a microphone and computer.

And a general reminder that players should arrive early so we can start at 6pm and end by 10pm. Expect GMs to start reading the intro dialogue on the hour.

New Players:
We have everything you need to walk in and play. If you would like to make your own character, please come in an hour early for help, or see the resources below for how to make your own at home. If you play a pregenerated character, we'll explain how you can apply credit for playing to your own custom character. Any more questions can be directed at Anna/Snowcat via these forums.

Paizo.com is where you will make an account and register a character. For detailed instructions on how to claim a Paizo number given at an event, click here.

Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide has all the information you need for playing Starfinder Organized Play, how to make your character differently from a home game, and special rules for Starfinder Society games.

Signing Up:
When you sign up for a spot, please include your first name and which scenario you would like to play. If you know what your Class and Level will be, we'd like that too. Sign-up is first-come-first-serve and you MUST use this forum site to claim your spot. If you aren't sure which scenario you'd like you play you can put yourself as a generic RSVP, but anyone who asks for a specific table will be seated where they request.

*** Please remember to bring your reference materials.*** These are Chronicle Sheets and any book you are using a feat, spell, item, or class option from outside of the Core Rulebook. PDFs must be watermarked with your name and email, which shows that you purchased them from Paizo. If you don't own the books, PDFs, or Chronicle Sheets that detail your character option, your character is not legal. We can give you a pregen and help you rebuild your character, but you will not be able to play until the errors are fixed.

About the Store:
Java Game Haus is a boardgame cafe that is half coffee shop, half game store. Be sure to familiarize yourself with its more unique policies.
  • No outside food or drink. Java is a cafe with a food and drink menu, as well as "Play-n-Eat" combos.
  • Table fees are $3 for players. GMs don't pay table fees. GMs also receive $1 in store credit for each player at their table. For multiple tables, we tally up the total players at an event and divide the credit amongst the GMs present.
  • All players get 15% off RPG supplies the day they play. GMs get 20% off.
  • Table fees are added towards the Paizo Retail Incentive. Retail Incentive Receipts only count when paid with cash or card, not store credit. Payment can be split and the portion paid by cash/card will be counted.

Event Time: 6pm - 10pm
Gather Time: 5pm - 5:45

Event Code: 551,358

Table 1

"In Pursuit of the Scoured Past"  #1-11  Tier 3-6

The PCs travel to the library world of Athaeum in search of answers to what happened during the Scoured Stars incident. The planet holds secrets thought to be lost to the rest of the galaxy and viciously guarded by its self-exiled extraplanar curators. A contingent of Hellknights from the Order of the Pyre joins the PCs in their travels to the library, but these Hellknights follow their own mysterious agenda. As the PCs receive special dispensation to investigate Athaeum's vast records, they learn the first truths of the Scoured Stars and take their first steps in unraveling what happened during the Society's greatest mishap.

Content in In Pursuit of the Scoured Past also contributes to the ongoing goals of the Second Seekers (Luwazi Elsebo) faction. Content in this scenario also contributes to the ongoing year of the Scoured Stars storyline.

Table 2

"Cries from the Drift"  #1-04  Tier 1-4

A missing Starfinder ship's distress signal would have gone unnoticed were it not for a passerby detecting it and selling the information to the Society. The PCs are to travel to the crippled starship, and once aboard, reach the bridge in order to piece together the tragic story of the vessel's lost crew. Only by unraveling the mysteries of the drifting starship can the PCs hope to uncover information critical to the Exo-Guardians future operations.

Content in Cries From the Drift also contributes to the ongoing goals of the Exo-Guardians faction.
