I'm always down for carpooling! @Dominick, I've favorite'd the calendar and will be checking it regularly!  I'm going to take Kristie's advice and use a pre-gen'd character on my first game, but I do have a character written up for afterwords.

Resources for Beginners / Trying to Understand "Boons"

Just so I can get some clarification, if I wanted to play lets say a Kistune, or Suli, I would have to acquire a boon, or more specifically a racial boon allowing for that race to be open for creation?  I've looked through the Guide to Organized Play but didn't see a specific list of boons, just that they can be purchased or given etc.

My name is Josh, I currently live in the Brandon/Valrico area.  I've been roleplaying for about 15 years now, the last 8 however have been mostly Hero system, with smatterings of D20 here and there.  My first game was D&D 2e, where I fell in love with the entirety of the genre, and have been playing/DM'ing different genre's of games ever since.
The first time I played Pathfinder was a few years back, when there was a RP event held at the Elks Lodge in Tampa that my folks frequented.  I walked in, was given a pre-gen'd character and got right to business.  It was absolutely awesome!  The last two months I've been DM'ing a homebrew Pathfinder game for some friends on Friday nights, which has given me an itch to get into playing a character.  And what better way then in some PFS games?
